Snakes smell with their tongues, quite a few snakes are venomous, Pit vipers, boa constrictors and pythons can sense heat, Snakes have hundreds of ribs, Snakes hear using vibrations in their jaw bones and all snakes shed their skin once every month. The fastest snake in the world can travel up to twelve miles per hour.

Britain's largest snake is a grass snake and their almost two metres long not venomous are very good swimmers a female grass snake lays her eggs on dry land.
