Volunteering

 

This is Gucci, she is a Burmese python, and this species is known as the labrador of the snake world. Generally placid, curious and really gorgeous. Gucci is particularly pretty. 

Mavis was brilliant yesterday (she always is) but she was great for visitors who aren't confident with reptiles. 

Falkor, the jewelled lacerta, is not very used to handling and mummy found it very difficult to give him a check over. 

This is the black and white tegu, and it's a baby, but still bigger than I thought it would be. They're difficult to handle because they like to climb and jump but also they are very scratchy and their tails are like whips. 

The crested geckos have sticky little feet and they can jump quickly and far. They are super cute with their huge eyes. Both of these geckos have dropped their tails and the tails wiggle when not attached! 

Today I volunteered at the reptile shop and there were some more reptiles such as crested geckos, a black and white tegu, another iguana, another boa constrictor and more bearded dragons.
