Science - Bridge building
I made a bridge out of lolly sticks using triangles as the shape because this is the strongest shape in construction.
It took a long time to make it and was glued but then reinforced using masking tape. I wanted it to be very strong because I was going to test how much weight it could hold.
I put different weights on the bridge slowly, using various stones and eventually I realised how strong it was so I wanted to see if it could support a giant bottle of PVA glue and it did with all the stones in the bowl too! The bridge started to move to one side at that point but I think I learnt a lot about the importance of accuracy when building (each lolly stick had to be glued so each side was weighted correctly and reinforcment meant extra durability and strength.
