Lesbian
Lesbians are women in same sex relationships.
Gay
Gay people are those in same sex relationships - usually though this term refers to males in same sex relationships.
Bisexual
Bisexuality is used to refer to an attraction to both men and women.
Transgender
Transgender is when a male or female wishes to transition to the other sex. This is through hormones and sex reassignment surgery.
Queer
Queer is an umbrella term to describe someone who is one of the identities/sexualities mentioned. This was used as a slur for many years and many gay/lesbian people do not like to use it.
Intersex
Intersex is a group of conditions where there is a difference between external and internal genitalia. Most people refer to these conditions as disorders of sex development.
Asexual
Asexuality is a low interest or zero interest in sexual activities.
None of these people should be discriminated against. There are some countries which do discriminate against this community.
