Poetry - The fear by Andrew Young

 

This is a very British poem, the animals mentioned are typical British animals and the poem does show a love and respect for animals. 

The poem does convey a slight fear of being alone, especially the first part. We can all recall a time a noise outdoors scared us. Two squirrels fighting in a tree scared me once and when camping with mummy a duck splashing into the water unexpectedly also scared me.

The last section of the poem talks about how the writer trespasses the earth and I think this is because we have to share our planet with other animals and respect them.
