Thrush - yeast infection. This results in itchiness and a cottage cheese like discharge. Medication is required and can be bought over the counter. If getting more than 1 bout a year, speak to a doctor.
Bacterial vaginosis - unpleasant but obvious. Discharge will seem watery and will smell very bad. Medication required.
Toxic shock syndrome - mitigate the risk by only wearing pads/tampons for 4-6 hours. Shower daily. If you feel unwell, tell mummy.
Washing - Removes good bacteria if using strong soaps or bubble bath. Can cause thrush. Water only is recommended.
