Art History - Egyptian paint palette
Painting was a popular and time-honoured pastime among the upper classes of Egyptian people. This particular paint box still preserves its cakes of paint, red ochre, Egyptian blue, green and black made from yellow ochre, Egyptian blue and charcoal.
This belonged to Amenemope, a vizier or high minister. He probably used this paint box for recreation. It's a very limited and unusual palette.
