Practical biology

We went for an afternoon walk and had an interesting find. We discovered a sheep skull and jaw bone. The skull shows the connecting bones to the spine and the brain cavity quite clearly (sheep have very small brains) and Niamh wanted to see what the teeth looked like so spent some time removing them. The roots are quite long (probably to tear grass out of the ground easily) and she really enjoyed this. She was quite interested in herbivore teeth and the difference to our own.
